FraMeSToR-HD Is Now BeyondHD – Ratio Free HD Torrent Tracker

About a year back, we posted an article on FILEnetworks Blog about a specialized HD private torrent tracker by the name FraMeSToR-HD. It was a project started by the veteran P2P movie encoder group FraMeSToR. Today, a year later, FHD is undergoing some massive changes. First and foremost, the site is now called BeyondHD – they have moved to a new domain, a new visual theme and is pretty much a different site in terms of looks. More importantly, it is now essentially a ratioless tracker powered by the newly implemented “Download Credits” (DC) system. Despite these changes, BHD remains to be a specialized tracker for high definition content including 3DBD, BD25, Remux & other Blu Ray encodes, 720p,1080p/1080i movie and TV shows and even lossless FLAC music. If you are interested in joining, signups are now open for a limited time.

The switch from Framestor-HD to BeyondHD seems to have gone smoothly. All existing user accounts and torrents have successfully been migrated over to the new site. As of 6/2/2012, BHD now tracks ~3000 active torrents and has a registered users base of 6700+ members. Quoted below is what BHD site admins told FILEnetworks Blog about the new changes:

Well what's changed, we're running our puppy on a heavy modified xbtitFM you can safely say we're the first ratioless HD Tracker*. Instead of a ratio system our coder implemented a Download Credit (DC) system. New members get a 50000 DC bonus to start Users can donate and get VIP time ( FL ) or can buy DC points. For example when you download a torrent, you will first see the download check system come up with stats similar to below:

• Your torrent file is ready for download
• Your Download Credits:   128,025   
• Download Credits after download:   117,025  

HD VIPS will NOT be charged , this is already calculated in de numbers you see. If the file is 100% / 75% or 50% free leech , it will cost you 100% / 75% or 50% less Download Credits.

Just like before we still don't allow Scene x264 HD releases and we're going to keep it that way. Don't get me wrong we got nothing against the scene we love those guys let's say we got
different opinions when it comes to encoding.. ;)

*There was previously a ratio free private HD tracker by the name SceneX. However this site is now defunct, making BeyondHD the only functioning ratio free HD tracker currently in existence.

One of the mains reasons behind the change over from FHD to BeyonHD seems to invite more internal encoders other than Framestor in to the tracker and beef up the number of available releases:

Our idea is to bring you a huge number of quality content, not only by us, but also by other quality groups or sole encoders who share our vision. That's why we are going to change our site name from framestor-hd.org to beyondhd.org. We believe that this will open up the gates to welcome more new encoding talent and we could have a lot more available content.

If you are a fan of HD content, you will naturally want to join this tracker. Thankfully, BeyondHD administrators are starting up by re-opening signups which have been closed for the most part of last year. Be warned that open signups won’t last forever – get in while you can.

HD-Torrents Disables Over 7500 Accounts, Opens Signups

HD-Torrents is currently open for signup. After yesterday’s open registration at HDChina, one could say these are good times for fans of HD content – but some of you might disagree, especially if you are one of the many who got disabled due to inactivity over at HDT. Couple of days ago, HD-Torrents admins launched a massive operation to to purge inactive accounts from the tracker. As a result over 7500 accounts were disabled due to inactivity – this was effectively one third of HDT’s users base. But that’s not all, signups at HDT have been opened once again to fill the vacated ranks with new blood. For those of you hearing about this tracker for the first time, HD-Torrents is a veteran specialized HD torrent site indexing high definition movies and TV shows including scene, non scene and internal releases. Open signups at HDT is quite a rare occurrence so get in while you can.

At the end of last month, there were around 22000 registered members on HD-Torrents. Fast forward three days into October this number has fallen towards 14000. Over 7700 accounts were disabled for inactivity – this is one tracker where just logging in once a month to keep the account active is not going to work. To quote the official rules:

• If you have a combined download total in excess of 25 GB and your ratio is below 0.70 you will receive two consecutive warnings. Failure to act upon the warnings and increase your ratio above 0.70 will get your account disabled.
• You are required to download at least 15 GB each quarter (90 days). Each quarter starts respectively on 1st day of January, April, July and October and ends on the last day of March, June, September and December. If on the 26 day of the last month of each quarter you are bellow the 15 GB minimum, you will receive a reminder. If on the last day of the quarter you still do not meet the requirement, your account will be disabled

It’s highly likely that it was the minimum quarterly download requirement of 15gb that doomed many of the disabled members. If you are thinking of creating an account here, do not forget about the two rules quoted above.

Coming back to the content indexed on HDT, it is in fact a pretty good HD tracker. With over 13500 torrents and an active seeder/leecher community (most popular torrent on this tracker has over 500 seeds), HD-Torrents is a good place to be if you love high definition content. It tracks lots of 720p and 1080p releases (in x264 container), untouched Blu –Ray, Blu-Ray Remux, etc ranging from movies, TV shows, documentaries, anime to even some high quality lossless music. There are a lot of p2p releases indexed (in addition to scene releases) including some uploads by internal encoder groups which include HiDt (which includes EuReKa who formerly released on Awesome-HD), ViSTA™, DNL, HDMaNiAcS & KRaLiMaRKo.

As said in the title of this post, signups for HD-Torrents are currently open. An official post by administrators on the homepage says:

Dear members, we moved HD-Torrents to a new server and we decided to open the tracker for registration to a total limit of 38,000 members. The site will open at 16:00 GMT on 03.10.11

It is not clear if the site would stay open until the user limit of 38000 is reached (that leaves around 24000 free spots up for the taking). However, if you like HD content, here’s a good opportunity to be part of a decent HD tracker.

HDChina Signups Open For Three Days Only – Excellent HD Torrent Tracker

We are one whole day late in publishing this news but if everything goes according to plan HDChina’s open signups will continue until midnight on 3rd of October 2011 and everyone will have plenty of time to create an account on this awesome HD tracker. First things first – as the name suggest, HDChina is a private tracker that has Chinese origins. But that doesn’t mean it would be useless for those who seek to download English content. HDC in fact tracks a lot of English releases (including scene, non scene and tracker exclusive uploads by affiliated groups) in addition to local content. It is a massive HD tracker that every serious fan of HD content should definitely be a part of. Last time this tracker opened signups was back in February 2010 – which is more than a year ago. This time around they have a limited open signup to celebrate National Day in China.

Although not very popular in the western world, HDChina is a huge private tracker and is one of the largest HD trackers ever. At the time this post was being written there were over 46500 registered members on HDC and it also had a mammoth sized torrent index with over 33000 HD torrents. The reason for it’s relative lack of popularity in English speaking countries might be the whole ‘Chinese connection’. After having a glance at the signup page filled with Chinese characters, many people seem to turn away, assuming this to be a BitTorrent tracker with releases local to China. This however is far from the truth. Majority of the content indexed on HDC are in English language including international releases such as Hollywood blockbusters and HDTV shows aired in the US and UK. Even the site interface can easily be switched to English if required - Once logged in, just click on the English flag icon on the top left corner of the page to change the language. Also note that this site labels almost all torrents including English only releases using both Chinese and English wording. So just know that a torrent having a Chinese label doesn’t mean it’s a Chinese release.

As far as the content goes, HDC is movie/TV tracker. A list of categories and video formats found on this tracker are summarized below:

• Movie: Blu-ray, 1080i, 1080p, 720p
• TV Episode: TV EP (CN/HK/TW), TV EP (JP/KR), TV EP (US/UK)
• TV PACK: TV Pack China (HK/TW), TV Pack JP/KR, TV Pack US/UK
• Others: Sports, Animation, Documentary, Music Video
• Audio: Lossless, Audio Track

Individual releases (which include 0day uploads) are accompanied by large torrent packs. These are pretty huge, with some packs exceeding 400GB in file size. Additionally, this tracker has no shortage of exclusive uploads thanks to the shitload of affiliated P2P groups that release on it such as HDChina, HDCTV, LU9998, iHD, CtrlHD, beAst & HDS, KiSHD and Pa@Ph. While creating an account on HDC will be easy thanks to the open signups, keeping it from getting disabled would be a harder task. HDC is serious about user activity and all new users are automatically checked by the system after a specific period of time and immediately disabled if minimum upload/download and bonus points requirements are not met. Quoted below is the official announcement:

From now on, all newbies must take part in our new check-up system (including open-registration and invitation) to improve the quality of our members.
1.If failed to meet the following requirements, new users would be banned after 30 days from the date of registration, regardless of signing up though invites or open registrations. Further, a new account created by open registration with no upload or download behavior in the first 3 Days will be banned, while 7 Days for Registration through invitation.
2.You MUST 30G Achieve the minimum for both uploading and Downloading Amount as well as gaining "seeding" no less than 4 000 Bonus Points in 30 Days from the Date of registration. These conditions shall be met simultaneously or you account will be banned.
Note: Donors, VIPs, uploaders, encoders, or users with higher rank are excluded from the above check-up system.

If the above was TLDR, here’s the summary of requirements that a new users needs to fulfill in order to keep his HDC account:

1. A new account created by open registration with no upload or download behavior in the first 3 Days will be banned
2. After 30 days from date of registration, you account should have a minimum of 30GB uploaded, 30GB downloaded and 4000 bonus points.

Signups will be open till the 3rd of October or till HDC hits its maximum user limit of 50000 members (3000 more spots remaining at time of this posting). Keep in mind that confirmation E-mail is in Chinese and will most likely land in your spam/bulk mail folder (tested with Gmail).

HDAhoy Relocates To HDAhoy.Net, Signups Open (Gazelle Based HD Tracker)

If you were one of the older members of the private torrent tracker HDAhoy, you probably already know that the site is inaccessible over its usual URL hdahoy.org. In this day and age when domains of file sharing sites getting seized left and right, this probably would have caused some panic amongst the sites regular users. However, there is no reason to worry – HDA wasn’t raided nor was their domain seized. It appears that the domain expired and according to a news post on site staff are seemingly unable to get it back. Good news however is that the site is now accessible under a different domain name; Hdahoy.net. There is no data loss and old user accounts and torrents are all there. If you are a new user, HDAhoy is currently open for signup as well.

For those hearing about HDA for the very first time, it’s a private torrent tracker specializing in high definition content. Launched a couple of years ago, the site currently tracks 6000+ active torrents and has an active users base of 5500+ registered members. HDA is one of those trackers powered by Gazelle tracker codebase.

Speaking of the content, HDAhoy tracks movies, TV shows, documentaries and some music videos. All of the indexed releases are high definition encodes (usually in 720p and 1080p quality). R5 Bluray Rips, Up scaled Videos, RAR/ZIP Archive Files, Youtube videos and all other non HD content are prohibited from being uploaded. BitHQ Signups Officially Open – Excellent Torrent Site For Full DVD, Blu-Ray Releases

For anyone obsessed with full DVD, Blu-Ray movie or TV torrents, BitHQ is a must have tracker. It’s a private torrent site specializing in untouched content (no rips – only indexes full disk releases with no modifications) and is one of the largest trackers catering to this niche along with TDC and Sparvar. During its 3+ years of lifetime, BitHQ has for the most part been an invite only community. However, during the past couple of months the site appeared to be having random open signups from time to time, although there was no official acknowledgement about this either on site or on forums. Judging from the feedback we received, some readers were able to sign up while others were greeted by an invalid invite code message. Good news is that BitHQ is now officially open for signup – a new item posted on site homepage mentions that the site will be open to the public until further notice.

If memory serves correct, BitHQ began its operations back in 2008. Like all new torrent sites, it started small but soon built a following of several hundred active members and some decent uploaders who propelled the tracker forward. Today in 2011, BitHQ has grown steadily to become one of the largest untouched DVD/Blu Ray trackers in existence, with over 7500 registered users and 12000+ indexed torrents.

Initially, BitHQ was limited to tracking mostly untouched DVD 5 and DVD 9 torrents only. Even today majority of the sites torrents are DVD releases but they have caught up with the times and moved into the Blu Ray release scene as well. BitHQ now tracks over 800 full BD25 and BD50 uploads along with thousands of other 720p/1080p high definition video and DVDR releases. As for the content, pretty much everything including full TV series, English movies, foreign movies, classic TV series and some sports content can be found here. All of these come with extra features, full menus, bonus features and other goodies found in the originals. Some of the largest torrents indexed on BitHQ can be seen on the screenshot below:

If you are desperate, staff have opened invite applications for international (non Chinese) members –  the invite app in question is quite lengthy and entry requirements are steep (you need to upload 1TB od data within the first month since joining). But this remains to be one of the rare opportunities to join this decent HD tracker.

World In HD (WiHD) – Private HD Tracker Celebrates 1st Anniversary, Signups Open

Several years ago when private trackers first came into the scene, there were no such things as dedicated HD torrent sites. However today, with HD video formats becoming increasingly popular, HD trackers have really gained traction. Today’s post is about one such dedicated torrent tracker for high definition content, namely World In HD (WiHD). WiHD is a BitTorrent tracker of French origin – that doesn’t necessary mean the site is useless for those who don’t speak French. It tracks a significant amount of English releases along with some French content, including untouched Blu Ray movies, Blu Ray remux as well as 720p and 1080p TV shows, movies, animation, documentaries, etc. Being a private community, WiHD is usually closed for public registrations. However, signups are currently open as part of their 1st anniversary celebrations.

Although it’s been online for just 1 year, WiHD hasn’t done badly in terms of expanding their torrent index - the site currently tracks over 1500 HD releases. It looks like they have amassed a decent enough user base during this time too, judging by the per numbers on popular torrents (official stats are unavailable). If you are concerned about the underlying mechanics, WiHD is built on the TS Special Edition codebase. It has all basic features of a private tracker and thankfully is one of the more cleaner looking, less cluttered TSSE implementations we’ve seen.

As we said earlier, WiHD tracks a mix of French and English releases including full Blu Ray movies, animation, documentaries, TV series and more. Most of the releases are in Multilanguage so English speaking fans will not be disappointed they created an account here. Amongst the indexed torrents were some unique uploads which I had not seen in other HD trackers – these are probably internal encodes by the site’s own release groups. The screenshot below shows some of the content traced on WiHD tracker:

WiHD being tracker with its roots in France, the interface language defaults to French. However this can easily be switched to English by clicking on the English flag icon on top left corner of the page (once logged in). As mentioned in the title of this post registrations for World In HD are currently open. Get in while you can.
